Half Moon introduces the 'memories' bed
Sleep deprivation is said to hinder the production of natural growth
hormone, according to Dr. Richard Gaines, a medical practitioners
from the Cenegenics Medical Institute in the United States, who
specialises in age management techniques.
This hormone influences healing, muscle growth, brain function
and metabolism, which is produced during deep sleep. It is this
recognition of the need for a good night's rest that Half Moon,
the luxury resort located in the exclusive Rose Hall enclave, is
introducing the custom-made, state-of-the-art 'Half Moon Memories'
bed.
Therapedic Caribbean locally manufactures the 'Half Moon Memories'
bed and NASA originally developed its state-of-the-art technology.
It is custom designed to ensure the utmost comfort and rest with
special features that include:
An open-cell, 'memory foam', temperature-sensitive material that
conforms to body contours, eliminating 'sinks', evenly distributing
body weight across the sleep surface.
Alternating coil design that eliminates motion transfer, thus increasing
support and comfort as individual coils respond to body weight -
allows users to remain undisturbed when partners get out of bed.
Plush fabric with a 'tack n' jump' design leading to a much more
'cushiony' and comfortable sleep surface as there are no folds at
the edge of the bed.
Technology that aligns the spine in a natural position during sleep,
eliminating discomfort.
"What a lot of persons don't realise is that sleep is as important
as exercise. It is during sleep that our body heals and repairs.
It follows then that without getting proper rest, our bodies cannot
repair and heal," said Half Moon's new Spa Director, Stephen
Phillips.
exclusive feature
The 'memories' beds will be one of the exclusive features in the
luxury resort's new beach front spa suites which will provide all
the comforts found in a traditional hotel suite, along with added
features and services of a personal spa. Each suite will feature
novel amenities such as Jatoba wood floors - a traditional Jamaican
wood; chroma-therapy bubble jet tubs that emit colours to provide
healing through the eyes and travertine floors that represent Jamaica's
basket-weaving traditions, as well as locally commissioned artwork.
The 'Half Moon Memories' beds will also be installed in the resort's
ultra luxe top-tier suites.
"As we continue on our master plan to renovate and upgrade
the resort, these are some of the innovative steps we are taking
to ensure that our very discriminating guests are afforded the highest
in luxury," said Richard Whitfield, Half Moon's managing director.
Fern Tree, the spa at Half Moon, will debut in 2007 and will see
the conversion of the resort's signature villa, Fern Tree House,
into a 68,000 square foot sanctuary for the mind and body. Drawing
on Jamaica's lush landscape and centuries-old healing traditions
as inspiration, the spa will melt modern spa techniques with Jamaica's
ancient healing remedies of native herbs, fruits and botanicals.
